10.12.24 ~ Step 3...
Good afternoon!
Shabbat shalom.
In our 7 steps to repentance from Deuteronomy 30, we've taken two steps. #2 is a mere baby step, where we've taken a step to get our heart to where we want to return to God. And that's just the small opening in the door that God is looking for to take a step towards us (Deut. 30:3).
Commercial:
Thursday night's zoom call: Where Am I In This Race (1 Cor. 9:24-10:13)?
Friday night's zoom call: Our Prophetic Call to Prepare for the Fall Moedim)
Then the Lord, your God, will return your eiles, and He will have compassion upon you. He will return and gather you from all the nations where Lord, your God, has dispersed you (Deut. 30:3)
Do you notice a repetition here? As God starts to return to us, He is exquisitely mirroring everything that we do in the first two stages.
Stage 1: we returned something to our heart
Compassion is a heart verb; it's a function of the heart. God is returning us to His heart. And God goes even further. Think back to stage 2, when we returned until God...we tried the best we could, to get close to God, to our spiritual c
enter; though we couldn't make it all the way. How does God respond? He reciprocates our attempt by indeed returning us, all the way to our land, to our physical center.
Does any of this feel familiar?
Shabbat shalom!
Step 4 is next.
