Good morning!
With the elections just a few days away, tyranny, socialists, marxists and communist are pulling out all the stops to hinder the influence of resurrection power in believers.
We are living in a time when rationally minded people have become fearful to stand up for traditional and/or godly values that strengthen the home and answering simple questions like what is a woman while promoting sexual identity, gender confusion and promiscuity in children.
We are in a battle for humanity imploding. As a society we are in danger. A serious question we should all ask ourselves is, 'Do I want to be a part of rescuing humanity'? Or should we put our head in the sand and hide? I want to suggest to you that we MUST engage the culture (Matt. 28:18-20). As awful as society has become, you must go! Our job is to elevate the world; to influence it rather than allowing it to contaminate us with its perverse ideologies (Matt. 5:13-16; Jn. 1:5; 3:19,20; Job 24:13-17). If not through you, how will the world hear (Rom. 10:14,15)? The sooner we learn our task on how to engage the culture, the faster our salty life will shed light on the path to lighten this world. We need to do it! NOW!
As it was in the days of Noah the world is corrupt (Matt. 24:37; Lk. 17:26), but now we are experiencing the taste of how rotten the fruit of its tyrannical, oppressive agenda is. Why is this happening? I would suggest that we, as the believing fabric of society, have been passive for too long. We have lost our first love (Rev. 2:1-4) and we've allowed the Torahless/iniquity filled behavior of society to dictate its presence and mentorship into our lives (Matt. 24:12).
Throughout the Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation, God has given us a distinct pattern of victorious living. One of the patterns is established through the picture of 'water'. Yes, it is true that the Torah, the instructions of God are likened to water, but water, in Scripture, acts as a contranym and it has a negative aspect to it also. It speaks of that which is hidden.
In the ancient world the seas represented the place of the dead, the abode of the gods of this world; a place of chaos (Gen. 1:2), which stands in direct contrast to the land, a place of order and life. The deep, within those waters, refers to the enemies of God.
From the beginning of the biblical narrative we have God establishing order out of chaos (Gen. 1:2-5). On day 3, in Genesis 1, we find Him gathering/mikveh the waters and separating the land out of the water; the picture of baptism/mikveh (Rom. 6:3-11). We see Him establishing Himself as King over heaven, the earth and the sea. And just as it is today, whoever controls the waterways controls the world. He who has sovereignty over the seas is the victor!
In God's economy, there is a physical separation from the sea. There's the fruitfulness of the land. The formation of the Mountain and the building of His glorious Temple...Not the city of Atlantis :-). We see the same pattern is repeated after the flood (Gen. 6-9) and the Reed Sea crossing (Ex. 14); the dry land appears (Ex. 14:30,31) and God's people, the nation of Israel, builds a dwelling place/Mishkan for God to dwell in their midst (Ex. 25:8; Zech. 2:10; 8:3; Rev. 21:3).
Whether it's the 'creation story' of the land coming out of the sea or Noah coming through the flood onto dry ground or Moses being drawn from the waters of the Nile or God's people coming through the sea leaving behind the enemy or Jonah being vomited out of the fishes mouth or Yeshua walking on the water or the earth swallowing up the wicked flood in Revelation or the new heavens and new earth having no more sea...every instance of something coming out of the water has a testimony for the nations that whoever came up out of the water, was empowered by the Creator, had sovereignty over that domain and the days of tyrannical chaos will be no more...hence the significance of water baptism!
We are called to reverse the influence of evil in this flooded world of chaos. As His Temple, on dry ground (2 Cor. 6:16), we are to reflect stability, not the chaos of the waters that are tossed to and fro with every wave and wind of doctrine (Jm. 1:5-7)...or every media report. In this world we are called to be the place of stability. Everything is being shaken all around us and the world system is trying to pull the rug out from under our feet. However, our Messiah, Yeshua, has given us the model of how we overcome evil. The question we have to ask ourselves is, 'will I follow His pattern or ignore it'? It's not Harris or Trump. It's obedience vs disobedience. It's light or darkness. It's about choosing resurrection life.
