Good morning!

This morning I want to take a note from my favorite leadership book in Scripture, Nehemiah.  And couple challenging thoughts to encourage you into this preparation day. Have a wonderful day: Choose the filling presence of the Most High as you go through the details of your day and light up your world with His presence!

In this week, tour portion, Pekudei (Ex. 38-40), we have the accounting/pekudei of all the materials in the tabernacle, and what happens whenever God‘s people are collectively obedient to the word that God commended to Moses (Ex. 39:32).

On the flipside, while Nehemiah is in Babylon, He makes a powerful statement to remember/zakar God‘s glory revealed in Moses. Remember, when obedience is pursued, we won't be scattered among the nations. If collective obedience, to the words of Moses, is not pursued...ugh (Neh. 1:8). Passover's coming!

"Remember/zakar, I beseech you, the word that you commanded your servant Moses, saying, if you trespass, I will scatter you abroad among the nations." (Neh. 1:8)
(Lev. 26:33-39; Deut. 4:25-27; 28:64; 1 Kgs. 9:6,7)

Welcome to that reality! Here in the 21st century, a simple and profound question we might ask ourselves, especially here in the USA, 'how did Nehemiah, in Babylonian exile, living in Sousa (Queen Esther's land), know what God told Moses'? Normally, in exile, our mind is on survival. How did He know? And really, why did he care? Enquiring minds want to know. The answer is quite simple: when the nation was taken into Babylon, the wise individuals took the sacred text of God‘s word, through Moses with them.

Is this significant to us today? Aren't those archaic rules and regulations that don't apply any more? Are there any commonalities between the two statements given by Nehemiah and our lives in exile (outside the Land of our inheritance) today? Through unfaithfulness, Israel was expelled from the land. Currently, every person on the face of the earth is in exile, groaning for the day when we will be home (Rom. 8:18-25). For many, we are homesick for the place we've never been...but once you've been you'll know your home :-)

Another significant question we need to ask ourselves is, “while in exile, are we remembering/zakar, taking action based on the word that the Lord commanded his servant, Moses?

The warning that Nehemiah wants us to remember are the clear warnings that God gave to Moses..whether it’s Leviticus 26:33–46, or Deuteronomy 4:25 27; 28:64; 32:26–28, the natural sowing and reaping laws still apply today (Gal. 6:7-9).

If the negative warnings in the law of Moses, the Torah, are still applicable today, and many of us know by experience that it is true, what would happen if a group of people chose to be completely obedient (Mal. 4:2-6)? Would we see a repeat of God's glory in our midst (Ex. 40:34-38)?

Since, we experiment with everything else from AI to the latest gadgets on the market, what do you say, we go for the glory (1 Pet. 5:1-4)! Wouldn't you love to be a part of a powerful move of God? To see His glory with those around you? More on this tonight's zoom call at 8:00 p.m. EST 699 858 9149.

Shalom

p.s. Passover is coming! Let's keep it with sincerity with one another (1 Cor. 5:8).
