4.1.25
Good morning!
It took almost 82 years of living, but it happened on Firstfruits 2015. My mom and I were visiting on what is known as Easter. She had a question that no one in her circles could answer, not her preacher, not the staff, no one. She asked, 'what does an Easter Bunny and Easter Eggs have to do with Jesus' death and resurrection'? 'Easter bunnies don't lay eggs' she said. Not one person was able to answer her question. I heard her ask it to person after person after person and not one answered. When she asked me if I knew, I began to explain to her, the best I could, the pagan reality that originated back with Nimrod in Genesis 10,11, which carries us back to the serpent's conversation with the woman in the Garden of Eden (Gen. 3) and this information has infiltrated its way deeply into the lives of believers in the Babylonian system of religion we have today. A system where pagan practices and biblical reality intermingle.
When I finished sharing my understanding of history, my mom, of blessed memory, dropped her jaw open in shock. From that point on she started proclaiming like a 'cock crowing' the truth about Easter and eggs. Understand that my mom was not super-spiritually minded, but she eventually made her way out of this spirit-less system of Babylon and she's moved progressively to the Truth! She recognized that we have profaned the things of God. She began to understand Isaiah 56:6 a little more.
“Also the foreigners/oov'nei hanekar who join themselves to the Lord/YHVH to minister to Him, and to love the name of the Lord/YHVH, to be His servants, every one who keeps from profaning/chalal the sabbath and holds fast My covenant;” (Isa. 56:6)
Let me ask you a few questions: does this verse apply to you? Well, are you a foreigner (literally, “sons of the strange/oov’nei hanekar? Have you joined yourself to Yahweh to minister to Him? Do you love His name? This covers most of us, doesn’t it? The words of Yahweh, spoken by Isaiah, make it pretty clear that Yahweh invites us to join His people. But intention and motivation aren’t quite enough. Action is also required; as I talked about in last night's zoom call. What do the offerings/korban of Leviticus 1-5 look like today? Are the sacrifices over forever? Will we ever see them again in God's economy? Enquiring minds want to know.
The Hebrew word my mom, of blessed memory, was beginning to recognize is the word for profane/chalal. This is primarily used in relation to ritual and ceremony within worship, but it is also used for sexual defilement (Genesis 49:4) and breaking a covenant (Malachi 2:10). In other words, the scope of these acts of defilement extends to each aspect of Yahweh’s marital relationship with Israel (Ex. 32; Isa. 50; Jer. 3; Eze. 16; Hos. 1 & 2; Mal. 2) – a covenant that involves practices and rituals (1 Cor. 11:2; 2 Thess. 2:15; 3:6).
With this background, it is difficult to imagine how anyone who meets the first requirements of intention and motivation can ignore or reject the second requirements of action.
Intention --> Thought --> Action --> Habit --> Lifestyle --> Legacy
Keeping Sabbath and holding fast/chazak – to be strong, to be courageous to the covenant are requirements of those who join themselves to the God of Israel. How is it possible to reconcile Yah's words here with Constantine’s creed required of everyone who joined the Christian Church from 325 BCE?
That creed reads in part, “I renounce all customs, rites, legalisms, unleavened breads and sacrifices of lambs of the Hebrews, and all the other feasts of the Hebrews, sacrifices, prayers, aspirations, purifications, sanctifications, and propitiations, and fasts and new moons, and Sabbaths, and superstitions, and hymns and chants, and observances and synagogues. absolutely everything Jewish, every Law, rite and custom . . .” Constantine rejected the words of the God of Israel. And many today, do the same; some willfully and most ignorantly (1 Jn. 5:16,17).
Once we read the history, this presents an enormous problem for most believers today. Will we live in direct disobedience to the words of our God? Will we worship according to Yahweh or Constantine? Now that you know, what will you do? Most Christians have no idea that the Sunday worship was determined by a Roman emperor, but now that you know, what will you do? Will you replace the Sabbath with Sunday worship and still not keep any of God's requirements for the Sabbath...because it’s just too difficult to explain to your friends why you keep Shabbat? Will you adopt the replacement theology that Yeshua changed it from Shabbat to Sunday, claiming Yahweh’s words in Isaiah don’t apply anymore? Or will you face the consequences of attaching yourself to the One you love and serve Him according to His instructions (Isa. 56:6; 66:18-24; etc.)
"...For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me says the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, says the Lord..."
(Isa. 66:22,23)
I know, once the truth hit my mom, the direction she took was one with no hesitation to let the truth be known. To this day, I thank my mom for teaching me a thing or two about Rak chazak amats/be strong and courageous (Josh. 1:6-9)!
"There shall not be any man that will be able to stand before you all the days of your life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with you: I will not fail you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage/rak chazak amats: for unto this people shall you divide for an inheritance the land, which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous/rak chazak amats, that you may observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded you: turn not from it to the right hand or the left, that you may prosper where you go. This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage/rak chazak amats: don't be afraid, neither be dismayed: For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. (Josh. 1:6-9)
Happy 3rd day of the week! Passover's coming!
