5.1.25 ~ 40 days after His resurrection (Pt. 7)

Good morning!

We live in a world where doubt is often disguised as intelligence and belief is naïveté. Think about that for a minute.  We live in a world where doubt is often disguised as intelligence and belief is naïveté. On this 19th day of counting the omer, the 3rd week and the 5th day, may we call doubt, doubt and truly understand that belief is something that is birthed out of my life for all to see.

Yeshua blesses those who believe in what they have not yet seen, but this wasn’t blind faith. It was faith anchored in the word, confirmed by the spirit, and for us today, it's served to us on a platter through the testimony of those who saw and doubted, and still chose to believe. Today's doubt is the prerequisite to a destination. Unfortunately, people wear it like it’s a badge of honor. However, biblical doubt isn’t meant to be a place where you stop, it’s meant to be the hallway you pass through on the way to deep conviction.

Personally, I have to overcome the mindset that Yeshua is not offended by my questions. He's not fragile and He's not easily offended! He’s not shamed by our honesty. In fact, the moment you think you’ve disqualified yourself with your doubt, might be the exact moment He plans to walk into your room, look you in the eye, and say, "come touch..."

The truth is maybe that you have had moments like that or maybe you’ve been in the eight day time like Thomas, waiting, feeling like heaven is gone silent, while others shout praise, but don’t mistake the waiting for absence. He knows where you are, and when He comes, He comes with pleas and proof to alleviate your doubts and fears.

Thomas. didn’t become the "poster child" of doubt, he became a missionary, carrying the gospel further east than any other disciple; planting seeds of faith and belief where it had never taken route. When Yeshua meets your doubt with His presence, he turns your questions into exclamation points and your skepticism into surrender.

What's your Thomas moment? It's easy to read these studies without contemplating, but again I'd like to ask, "what's your Thomas moment"? What is it that God is waiting to show you? He isn’t threatened by your questions. He is patient with your pain. He still appears in the locked rooms where fear and faith collide. Those two opposing feelings have not disqualified you.  He loves having an encounter in 'the room' that you've locked the door to in order to produce growth.

Still again, Thomas confessed what would become the cry of millions: "my Lord and my God"! That comment doesn't come lightly. It only comes when your doubt of God and your fear of men have been resolved through the story of the risen Lord (the 2nd half to the greatest love story never told :-).

He is risen! He is risen indeed, is more than a slogan we say one Sunday morning a year. It's the motivating factor why you got out of bed this morning. He gave you breath in your lungs. He needs you! He needs you to come walk by faith. He needs you to put aside your fear of men (Prov. 29:25). You can't serve God and fear the opinion of men at the same time (Gal. 1:10).

Live victoriously! Come out of the room that locks from the inside. There's a world that needs to see and hear that you've overcome your doubt and fear!

Happy 19th day of counting the omer!

Shalom,
Alan
