5.22.25

 Good morning

Welcome to the 40th day, the sixth week and fifth day of counting the omer. Here in Michigan, we have a 60% chance of rain and 100% chance that we will get some more Mount Sinai/Acts 2/Pentecost thoughts regarding marriage.

If you’re like me, you often find yourself searching for the right person in life to help you find meaning. Sometimes that search leads us to look within ourselves and wonder what is the meaning of life. I know what the Sunday school answers are, but I’m talking about real nuts and bolts… I think you know what I mean.

What is a meaningful life? Answers will vary, but foundationally, it means a life in line with the meaningful purpose for which we were created.

Have you ever noticed that so many of us (speaking of me, myself and I) are searching endlessly on ways to make life more meaningful? Why? Could it be that life isn’t any more meaningful? Maybe, like the 'AI' world, we’re just evolving, so we should just sit back in our 'spiritual lazy boy chairs' and wait until we evolve into something other than what we are now?? But, then, when we do become that, whatever it may be...we will probably ask, "why are we like that"?

Can we make life more meaningful? Can we make our relationships more meaningful? We know, instinctively, deep down inside our soul that life has a meaning, a particular meaning, and that is the mission for which your soul came into this world. That meaning in life is the mission given to you by the creator. If I know what my mission is, my life becomes more meaningful because I’m living out the purpose for which I was created. So, when we say what is the meaning of life we’re also asking what is the purpose of life. And if you’re asking, what is the purpose of life you’re asking, "What purpose did He create me"? That's a great question, because I didn’t ask this for myself. I didn't ask to be born when I was, to the parents I was, in the environment that I was...I didn't ask before that moment of conception, "Don't create me".

Why was I created? Because the Creator has a purpose for me. Just the fact that you woke up today is a 'flashing neon' sign employing you into God's service for the day; and it reads, "I need you!"

And that’s what the Torah is all about. That's what counting the omer is about. That's what applying the blood of the Lamb to your life is all about (Deut. 6:23-25). That's what the journey towards the chuppah/wedding canopy is all about. That's what the wedding vows are all about. God brought, or is bringing you, to Mount Sinai, on eagle's wings, because He knows that we’re a little curious as to why we’re here, why He put us here, why He created us, what He needs us and how He wants us to live it. A meaningful life is a life in which we are serving the purpose of our Creator and the reason for which He created us.

Whether you're a student, a business owner, an employee, married or hoping to be, we're all looking for our purpose :-). I'm praying for you, on this 40th day of counting the omer (the day when Yeshua would have ascended and left you behind with a great commission to wait and pray for your instructions to be revealed at Pentecost.

We're 10 days away. Hopefully, in the past 40 days the fear of being bold for the Messiah has been alleviated. Now, according to the pattern given to us in Scripture, the Spirit is cyclically working to use you in a bold way. Yes, my friend, the fields are white to harvest (Jn. 4:35)...He needs laborers who aren't afraid of what men think or the hard work that it takes to bring in the wheat to make the bread (1 Cor. 10:14-22); the bread has to be made and broken to feed the nations (Mk. 8:18-20 :-).

Shalom!
