6.13.25 ~ Be like Eldad and Medad
Good morning!
Happy preparation day and happy 13th day of counting towards the first fruit of the wine; which is connected to the summer months of abiding in the True Vine or the Vine of Sodom (Deut. 32:32), in order to bring forth fruit that will last (Jn. 15:1-8). It won't be long and the fall feast season will be upon us. Here in Michigan, we're gearing our minds and our prayers towards that prophetic celebration!
In times past we have made a fairly detailed comparison of the two opposing shepherds in John 10 and the connection with false prophets (Deut. 13). Scripture is clear that in the last days prophecy is going to be at an all time high (Joel 3:1,2). And, with everything true there will be counterfeits (Matt. 24:4-14).
In this week's Torah portion, Behaalotecha, Moses has an encounter with his understudy, Joshua. Based on a third party report that two men, Eldad/God has loved and Medad/love and affection, were prophesying, Joshua employed Moses to forbid them from prophesying (Num. 11:24-30). Moses response was simple and profound: Are you envious on my behalf? I wish that all of God's people were prophets and that the Lord would put His Spirit upon them (Num. 11:29).
There are many spiritual gifts in God's family (Rom. 12; 1 Cor. 12-14; Eph. 4). The most coveted is the gift of prophecy (Num. 11:29; 1 Cor. 14:5), and it's available through asking and pursuit. Within Deuteronomy 13 we have been given the qualities of a false prophet (2 Pet. 2; Jude 1:4-16) and within those same verses the outline of a true prophet .
Last night I spent a good portion of the evening examining the message of Isaiah; one of Scriptures most prominent prophets. This morning, I want to summarize, in bullet point fashion, some chapters to consider as you continue preparing yourself for a fruitful summer and preparation for the prophetic fall moedim/appointed times; all connected to the Messiah's 2nd coming (trumpets, Atonement(s), and the Feast of Tabernacles).
Isaiah 2: The last days: The Millennial Kingdom
Isaiah 6: The throne of God
Isaiah 7 & 9: The prophecy concerning the Messiah's 1st coming
Isaiah 13, 14: The downfall of Babylon and Lucifer
Isaiah 24-27: The tribulation
Isaiah 45: The prophecy of Cyrus and the rebuilding of Jerusalem and the Temple
Isaiah 53: The suffering servant
Isaiah 63, 65-66: The 2nd coming and the Millennial Kingdom
Over the next several days, I'll share with you some prophetic insights connected with Pentecost/Shavuot that we recently celebrated...You may be shocked :-)
Happy Preparation Day and Shabbat shalom!
