9.22.25 ~ Seeing Differently

Good morning!

You know the battle is on when the Spirit’s intentions and the enemy’s intentions collide. As we head into the 7th month of God's prophetic calendar, we remind ourselves of what was revealed to us in the previous 30 days, which was all about intimacy, unity, forgiveness, mercy, cohesiveness within the body, giving and receiving forgiveness, and bringing honor to the King.

Spiritually speaking if you are experiencing opposition in these aforementioned areas it’s an honor and a privilege! Huh? That doesn't sound much like a privilege to me!?

Conflict only takes place on battle grounds that are worthy of obtaining victory. One way that the enemy brings a counter against preparation for the Fall Moedim/appointed times is keeping us ignorant of the prophetic and authentic work of the Spirit at this time of year.

We are at the time of year where we celebrate Yom Teruah/day of trumpets, one of the appointed times/Moedim that is oftentimes neglected because there isn’t a whole lot of direct information telling us why or how to celebrate it (Lev. 23:24,25).

Fortunately, it’s one of those Moedim "that it’s the glory of the Lord to conceal the matter and the glory of the Kings to search it out" (Prov. 25:2). It’s not only a ‘hidden day’ in the sky, because of its timing with a new month, but its meaning is overtly hidden in Scripture. Consequently, we take a general concept about the Moedim and we give the enemy ground through our ignorance.

Yom Teruah, The Day of Shouting, is a memorial day of shouting and remembering the blowing of the shofar/zichron teruah (Lev. 23:24); a Mt. Sinai, covenant experience. It’s traditionally known as the Yom HaDin, the day of judgment…and it’s here that the enemy gets his foothold.

As we can all testify, as seen in last week's study, man’s judgments are always limited objectivity, based on a certain criteria and what can be seen. Whereas, the Lord God/Yahweh Elohim His judgments are always objective, but include subjectivity, because He can see what can’t be seen, the heart, the hurt, the motive, the intangibles that can’t be measured by objective standards of sight (John 7:24; Isa. 11:3,4).

Many believers, who celebrate the Moedim, look at this time of year as a time of judgment in a negative light. Consequently, there are harsh sentences placed upon people that are clearly out of line with Scripture. Not because the ‘objective standard’ isn’t there, but because many of the ‘heart issues’ are not being dealt with by the judge and the accused (Neh. 8:9).

And Nehemiah, who was the governor, Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, “This day is holy to the LORD your God; do not mourn nor weep.” For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the Law. (Neh. 8:9)

There are at least two ways of looking at this time of year, regarding judgment. One is in a critical light and the other is in potential light. I’m going to suggest to you that the critical perspective can easily be used as a weapon in the hands of the enemy to destroy or prevent cohesiveness that is trying to allow two to walk together (Amos 3:3). Potential light is more like an audit. It takes into consideration areas of success and areas of weakness, but they are always in lieu of the individual's potential within the Kingdom. Now at first blush, that may not seem like it’s that big of a difference, but in reality of the one being ‘judged’ it’s the difference between night and day.

The enemy has one explosive weapon…discouragement! This is the season of encouragement! It’s the season of unity. It’s the season of support and intimacy within the body! If you feel like there’s a ‘hurricane Gabrielle’ brewing all around you, stay in the ‘eye’ of the storm. Relax. Trust Yahweh Elohim to take the torrential downpours and heavy winds that are a category 4 or 5 storm and stay close to Him. If the storm is too big, fill up on gas and grub and hit the road (1 Cor. 10:12,13). Whatever you do, whether you stay to weather the storm or flee, don’t feed the destruction (Prov. 26:21) and destroy the lives that are growing beautifully (Psa. 1:1-3; Jer. 17:8; Eze. 47:12).

It’s a season for harvesting, not destruction. May your fall Moedim be plentiful and intimate! Yom HaKippurim/Day of coverings is fast approaching! The day when the books are closed for another year. For now, the books are open but it feels like the torrential downpours are more than we can handle. Hang in there! Stay the course! Victory over discouragement is on its way.

Tomorrow on the traditional day of Yom Teruah, we will see things a little beyond our self-perception!

Chag sameach/happy feast season!

Shalom,
Alan
