10.12.25 ~ Only for a Little While

Good morning!

During Sukkot 2025, we have focused on building an airtight case that Yeshua is the Messiah. We have identified Him as the King, my Lord, the Shepherd who gathers, our Salvation, the suffering servant, and using Scripture from both the TaNaKh and the Gospels identifying Yeshua as Messiah Ben Joseph and Messiah Ben David.

Shabbat morning's zoom call: Psalm 90. Do my prayers really have a profound impact on God's destiny for me?

In our study yesterday, I challenged you to live the life of the suffering servant knowing that suffering precedes glory (Rom. 8:16,17, 36; Lk. 24:25,26; etc.)
Enduring hardships, suffering is not my favorite topic! But without it, no one, and I mean literally no one can be conformed to the image of His Dear Son  and ultimately rule and reign with Him(Rom. 8:29; 1 Pet. 5:10).

After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. (1 Pet. 5:10)

Did you notice the by-product of suffering? Why are these necessary? Simply put, the goal of suffering, in this world, is to represent God.
Perfect/kataritzo: to regulate’ and to equip and to confirm for unity in His image. He's not talking sinless (1 Jn. 1:8).

Confirm/Sterizo: to support you in making a change in the universe. There is something cosmological happening here. Don’t forget it.  Your actions, while you suffer for a little while, have influence well beyond your current state of being. Ironically, God is counting on you.

Strength/sthenoo: bodily vigor! Not just muscles, iIt’s energy, the dynamic of a “get up and go” attitude.  Do you ever fall down?  It happens.  Get up and go again (Prov. 24:16).  That’s a choice, and Peter tells us that God Himself will prod us on and provide the energy to do so.

For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity. (Prov. 24:16)

Establish/themeloo: It's all about providing a foundation (Matt. 7:24,25)

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been established/themeloo on the rock. (Matt. 7:24,25)

BTW, these aren't just "New Testament" concepts. Pick any of your Scripture heroes: Abe, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, David, Hezekiah, Ruth, Esther, Deborah, Zipporah, Sarah, Asenath, etc...and you'll find all these qualities in them. They made a difference in this world! Yeshua embraces them and now it’s our turn (Heb. 11:39,40). Remember, what doesn't kill you will make you stronger!

And all these, having gained approval through their faith, did not receive what was promised because God had provided something better for us, so that apart from us they would not be made perfect. (Heb. 11:39,40)

Chag Sameach!
Shalom,
Alan

Last night's zoom call: Yeshua is the Messiah Ben Yoseph, the suffering servant, revealed in the Gospels and Revelation or "shampoo and conditioner in the same bottle :-)
