10.15.25 ~ Be like Moses, David, Joshua and Yeshua
Good morning!
Over the past 9 days we have worked diligently to prove or disprove that Jesus/Yeshua is the Messiah that Scripture speaks of. We have covered a lot of territory from Him as King, to Lord, to Shepherd, to the One Who gathers the dispersed, to the suffering servant, Messiah ben Joseph and Messiah Ben David, the Prophet like unto Moses and the One greater than Moses who died, rose again and will, like Joshua lead us into the Promised Land during the Greater Exodus (Last night's zoom call)
Within our study we saw that Joshua/Yehoshua, as well as all of the Prophets, could possibly have been the one who was like Moses (Deut. 18:15), but his, and their qualities, though similar, were not complete. But what we do find in Joshua that is very much like Moses and true of Yeshua is that neither allows the law/torah of God to depart from their mouths, but they meditate/hagah on it day and night (Josh. 1:8; Psa. 1:1-3).
With the Feast of Tabernacles in the rearview mirror and the challenge to be imitators of Yeshua (Eph. 5:1,2), in the front windshield, may this be the charge that we take up also!
When they (the Psalmist, Joshua and Yeshua) meditated on the Torah day and night they didn't just casually think about it, there was an oral activity associated with it; using the tongue. It might be murmuring the words, recitingy, or repeating out loud from memory.
Do you find yourself easily repeating and meditating/logizomai on all the verbal nonsense of the world through tik tok, shorts, instagram, etc., but have a difficult time using your tongue to speak those things which are true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, commendable, excellence, worthy of praise from Philippians 4:8? These are the foundational realities of Torah that we are to meditate/logizomai (put into practice, do something about it :-)
Let me encourage you to reflect over the past six months of the 2025 God's feast season/moedim and God's miraculous working in your life; Where you've come from and where you're going. Remember the deeds of the Lord. Remember His miracles from long ago (they're coming again Eccl. 1:9 :-). Consider all His works and meditate/hagah on His mighty deeds (Psa. 77:11,12)
Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing unto you Oh Lord (Psa. 19:14).
Chag Sameach during this season of our joy!
Shalom,
Alan
